This unique concert programme brings together folk melodies from different cultures, performed in rich and expressive jazz interpretations. The programme’s author and main performer is Ilona Bagele, soloist of the Latvian National Opera, whose voice and artistic expression seamlessly merge elements of classical music, jazz, and traditional folk songs.

The concert will also feature arrangements by pianist and composer Madars Kalniņš, including Ukrainian, Irish, Portuguese, Italian and Latgalian folk melodies — the latter holding a particularly special place in Ilona Bagele’s heart.

Ilona Bagele will be joined on stage by an exceptional ensemble of Latvian musicians:
